Job summary

Dunkin' is seeking a qualified preventive refrigeration technician to service our Pennsylvania locations in Media, Broomall, Kennett Square, and Northeast Philadelphia. You will perform weekly preventive maintenance on condensers, ice machines, walk-ins, and beverage dispensers, ensuring proper temperatures and clean operation.

This is a part-time role with weekend availability and paid weekly. Ideal candidates have hands-on commercial refrigeration experience, own tools, EPA 608 certification

Qualifications

• Hands-on commercial refrigeration experience in HVAC, supermarket, or foodservice equipment service.
• Own hand tools and coil cleaning gear.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Visit one location per cycle, ~4–6 hours per site.
• Perform preventive maintenance on condensers, ice machines, walk-ins, reach-ins, and dispensers.
• Record readings (temperatures, suction/discharge, amp draw) and perform minor adjustments.

Job description

We run three Dunkin' locations in Delaware and Chester County plus a beer distributor in Northeast Philadelphia. Every one of them lives or dies on refrigeration — ice machines, walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, and beverage dispensers. When a compressor fails on a Saturday morning, it costs us real money.

We are not hiring someone to fix breakdowns. We have vendors for that. We are hiring one experienced person to prevent them.

You visit one store per week and give every refrigeration unit in that building a full preventive service — clean it, inspect it, measure it, write it up. Four locations in the rotation means each site sees you about once a month, year round. Same list, same checklist, every time.

The schedule

• One location per visit, roughly 4–6 hours depending on the site
• Weekends, on the day and start time that suits you
• You get the rotation eight weeks ahead so you can plan around your full-time job

What you will do at each location

• Condensers: pull covers, brush and vacuum the fins, wash where needed, verify clean airflow
• Ice machines: full teardown clean and sanitize per manufacturer schedule, water filter change on cycle, check water lines, harvest cycle and bin controls
• Walk-in coolers and freezers: coil and evaporator cleaning, defrost cycle check, drain lines clear, door gaskets, hinges, closers and sweeps, curtain strips, verify box temperature against setpoint
• Reach-ins and undercounters: condenser clean, gasket condition, fan operation, temperature check
• Beverage and frozen dispensers: condenser clean, seals, drip and drain check
• Readings: record suction and discharge temperatures, superheat where applicable, box temperatures, amp draw on compressors and fans
• Minor adjustments: belts, fan motors, thermostat calibration, door alignment, gasket replacement, filter swaps
• The report: a short written summary per visit, with photos, telling us what you cleaned, what you measured, what is starting to look wrong, and what needs a vendor before it fails

That last item matters most. The value of this job is catching the failure eight weeks before it happens.

What you will not do

• No emergency or after-hours calls
• No sealed-system work, refrigerant recovery or charging as part of the routine visit

If something is broken and you want to fix it on the spot, we are open to that as separate paid work, case by case. It is never an expectation of the weekly visit.

Pay

Hourly, based on experience. Paid weekly. We will talk about the number on the first call.

What we need from you

• Required: hands-on commercial refrigeration experience — from an HVAC company, a supermarket chain, a restaurant group, or foodservice equipment service work
• Required: your own hand tools, coil cleaning equipment, gauges, thermometer and clamp meter
• Required: reliable transportation, valid driver's license, smartphone for photos and reports
• Required: you show up on schedule, every week, without being chased
• Preferred: EPA 608 certification
• Preferred: you live in or near Delaware County, Chester County, or Northeast Philadelphia

Ideal fit: someone already working full-time in HVAC or refrigeration who wants steady, predictable weekend income with no on‑call burden.
