Job summary

The YMCA of South Alabama is seeking a qualified Pilates Reformer Instructor to lead engaging reformer-based classes for members in Spanish Fort. The role emphasizes safe instruction, proper technique, and creating an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere that supports healthy living.

Qualifications

• Must hold current nationally recognized Pilates Reformer certification.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior experience teaching Pilates Reformer preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and injury prevention principles.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Pilates Reformer classes in accordance with YMCA guidelines and industry standards.
• Instruct participants on proper form, alignment, and breathing techniques.
• Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate varying fitness levels and abilities.
• Ensure safe setup, operation, and cleaning of all reformer equipment.
• Monitor participants during class to ensure safety and provide appropriate feedback.
• Respond to injuries and incidents in accordance with YMCA risk management procedures.
• Build positive relationships with members to enhance engagement and retention.
• Maintain accurate class attendance records as required.
• Follow all YMCA of South Alabama policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Promote YMCA programs and encourage member participation in wellness offerings.
