Job summary

Southeast Ventura County YMCA is seeking a Pilates Reformer Instructor to lead safe, engaging Reformer Pilates classes for participants of varying fitness levels. You will provide clear instruction, correct form, and appropriate modifications to meet individual needs in a welcoming environment.

The role requires Pilates Reformer certification, strong communication and customer service skills, and a commitment to YMCA safety standards. CPR/AED certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Pilates Reformer certification from a recognized training organization is required.
• Experience teaching Reformer Pilates in a group fitness setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Pilates principles, anatomy, movement, and exercise modifications.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to create a welcoming experience for both beginners and experienced participants.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging and professionally structured Reformer Pilates classes.
• Demonstrate proper Reformer techniques, exercises, and equipment use.
• Provide clear verbal and visual instruction throughout each class.
• Monitor participants and provide corrections to ensure proper form and safety.
• Offer modifications and progressions for different fitness levels and abilities.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating class environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Reformer studio.
• Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Build positive relationships with members and encourage continued participation.
• Communicate professionally with members, staff, and Healthy Living leadership.
• Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
