CSU Channel Islands seeks a Part-Time Reference Librarian to support student-centered learning by providing reference services and guiding students in research skills. The role may include LibGuides development, outreach materials, and information literacy sessions, with potential evening or weekend shifts.

The successful candidate will hold an MLS from an ALA-accredited program and demonstrate a strong commitment to service excellence in a diverse academic community.

Qualifications

• MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience providing one-on-one reference and research services to a diverse population.
• Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing demands.
• Strong commitment to reference services and service excellence to a diverse community.
• Demonstrated cross-cultural interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team.
• Ability to mentor students to support academic success.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference services to the campus community with potential nights/weekends.
• Contribute to projects like LibGuides, copy cataloging, and outreach materials.
• Deliver information literacy sessions and other assigned work.
