Job summary

Scheduling includes Saturdays, Mondays, and Sundays during May through September, with additional shifts as needed. This safety-sensitive position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to use lawn and maintenance equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment and procedures.
• Knowledge of lawn care equipment.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.
• Knowledge of recycling programs.
• Knowledge of household hazardous waste.
• Skill in using power tools and lawn equipment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• May require working at other DSWA facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist facility users and visually inspect materials per DSWA policies.
• Instruct users on safe facility use and disposal locations.
• Provide information about rules and procedures.
• Open and close centers.
• Manage site traffic and security with gates and alarms.
• Operate the compactor.
• Clean sites and empty specific bins; remove trash.
• Record container material levels.
• Maintain sites with lawn equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers).
• Identify, report, and repair site problems.
• Keep logs of facility activity.
• Assist the public with recycling electronics, paper shredding, HHW, batteries.
• Assist in resolving operations problems.
• Operate forklift and bobcat to move items.
• Conduct collection event surveys.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
