Job summary

Asante in Medford, OR is seeking a Recreation Therapist to evaluate and provide therapeutic recreation services in a hospital setting. The role is part-time (0.2 FTE) with a variable schedule and responsibilities include patient assessments, intervention planning, and family teaching within the rehab team.

The successful candidate will have a Therapeutic Recreation degree, CTRS certification upon start, and BLS certification. Experience in rehab and collaborative teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Therapeutic Recreation program from an accredited university required.
• 1 year experience working in a rehab unit, or equivalent experience in work, education or training is required.
• CTRS: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist required upon start.
• BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs and initiates appropriate recreational therapy interventions.
• Provide patient and family teaching and collaborate with the patient care team.
• Maintain standards for recreational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Participate in performance improvement and program development activities.
• Contribute to budget planning and cost effectiveness of services.
