Job summary

City of Broken Arrow Parks and Recreation is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant in Broken Arrow, OK. The role supports daily operation of the recreation center and nature center under supervision.

Responsibilities include facility opening/closing, member check-ins, class enrollments, room reservations, equipment setup, safety, and custodial duties. Requires high school diploma and CPR/First Aid training eligibility.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid and Bio-hazard training on hire.

Responsibilities

• Opens recreation center and gymnasiums; resets alarms and opens facilities.
• Checks patrons in and handles payments for reservations.
• Reserves rooms and shelters for the park.
• Sets up/takes down tables, chairs and equipment.
• Delivers outstanding customer service and enrolls customers in classes.
• Ensures facility safety.
• Teaches assigned courses.
• Maintains and updates records and passes.
• Answers telephone and transfers calls.
• Photographs events for newsletters and planning.
• Maintains thermostats and clocks.
• Performs custodial duties and restocks supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
