Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is seeking a Part Time Recreation Assistant to support the Elon Recreation Center. The role involves assisting with recreation and leisure activities for diverse populations, including athletics, fitness, events and afterschool programs.

Hours vary across daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license with CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

No experience required.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
CPR/First Aid certification and valid NC/SC driver’s license required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service and handle funds in a recreation center; process information and registrations.
Ensure participant safety and administer first aid when necessary.
Enforce facility rules and regulations.
Collect fees and register participants for programs and rentals.
Assist with light maintenance of facilities and recreational areas.
Referee at sports activities; serve as timekeeper/scorekeeper/line-person as needed.
Assist with various programs for all ages and with field trips.
Handle inquiries and complaints from the public.
Assist with special events and field trips.
