The City of Broken Arrow is seeking a Recreation Assistant to oversee the operations of its recreation and nature center. The role involves ensuring safety, managing customer relations, and maintaining facility standards. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and strong customer service skills, with responsibilities that include supervising daily activities and teaching courses. FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Under general supervision, assists in the supervision of the day-to-day operation of the recreation center and/or nature center.
*This position performs duties deemed to be “safety sensitive” and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City’s policies.*
Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid and Biohazard training courses immediately upon hire.
Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking, and involves some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds).
