Job summary

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to join our Outpatient Substance Use Disorder program across the Twin Cities metro. This part-time role (20 hours/week) provides recovery-oriented support, helps clients build coping skills, and coordinates with the LADC and Mental Health Practitioner to promote stability and community integration.

Ideal candidates hold DHS and MCB peer certifications, at least a high school diploma, and relevant supervised

Qualifications

• Requires DHS Certified Peer Specialist certification and MCB Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certification.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be free of chemical use problems for at least one year prior to hire.
• Must be a current or former consumer of mental health services.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality program services to individuals served in a professional manner.
• Complete required documentation according to program standards and timelines.
• Provide peer support to those dealing with substance use and/or mental health symptoms.
• Provide guidance, encouragement, education and skill-building around wellness planning, crisis planning, and self-advocacy to support recovery goals.
• Provide services that help clients identify their strengths and use them to reach treatment goals and overcome barriers to participate in community resources.
