Job summary

Central Minnesota Mental Health Center in Saint Cloud is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist Behavioral Health Practitioner to provide individual peer support and group services for individuals with serious mental illness and recovery from substance use disorders in the St. Cloud area.

The role focuses on peer-led wellness coaching, recovery-oriented services under the CCBHC framework, and collaboration with providers to enhance physical and mental health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Peer Specialist Certification or enrollment in Peer Certification Training.
• 4,000 hours working with mental health, developmental disabilities, or chemical dependency diagnosis (can be part- time over several years or 2 years full time).
• Holds a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or related fields and completes a practicum or internship or employment that requires direct interaction with adults or children served (2,000 hours).
• Holds a master’s degree or another graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Work with providers, staff, and community towards improving both physical and mental health for individuals and families.
• Assess, refer, and monitor progress towards achieving goals in the overall health of individuals and families.
• Provide one-on-one peer support, and groups, focused on behavior changes to improve quality of life.
• Empower individuals with skills to engage in the management of both physical and mental health.
• Document interactions and interventions as directed.
• Follow all mandated reporter guidelines and always review suspicious concerns with supervisor.
