Job summary

Kern River Transitional Care is seeking a friendly, dependable Part-Time Receptionist to be the welcoming face of the facility in Bakersfield, CA. You will greet residents and visitors, manage calls, assist with check-in, and maintain logs in a busy healthcare setting.

The role requires strong customer-service skills, professionalism, and the ability to stay organized. Prior clerical or healthcare exposure is a plus, with a flexible weekend/holiday schedule as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer-service experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents, families, visitors, vendors, and employees warmly and professionally.
• Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls.
• Monitor the reception area and assist visitors with check-in procedures.
• Provide general facility information and direct questions to the appropriate department.
• Maintain visitor logs and follow facility safety and security procedures.
• Receive, sort, and distribute mail, packages, deliveries, and correspondence.
• Assist with filing, copying, scanning, faxing, data entry, and other clerical duties.
• Schedule appointments and assist with maintaining calendars as assigned.
• Communicate resident and family requests to appropriate staff members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Protect residents’ privacy and maintain the confidentiality of all health information.
• Follow facility policies, infection-prevention practices, and emergency procedures.
• Provide administrative support to facility leadership and department managers as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
