Job summary

Calhoun Academy of the Arts (Elementary School) in Anderson, SC seeks a Part-Time Tutor to provide targeted academic support in reading and mathematics for 12 hours weekly (Mon–Thu).

The role requires preferred SC Teacher Certification, literacy endorsement, and strong collaboration with staff. Work is on-site with a Monday–Thursday schedule from Oct 15, 2026 to Apr 8, 2027, at $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current South Carolina Teacher Certification (preferred).
• Read2Succeed Literacy Requirement Instructional Endorsement preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• Proficient technology skills.
• Ability to collaborate with peers and administration.
• Strong instructional skills including oral and written communication.
• Ability to support students in reading and math.
• Ability to organize and analyze student performance data.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted intervention aligned to classroom instruction.
• Reinforce foundational reading and math skills.
• Support students through MTSS and PLC guidance.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with teachers and administration.
• Utilize district-approved instructional resources and intervention materials.
• Deliver intensive prescriptive instruction to increase achievement in reading and math.
• Adjust groups based on ongoing progress and data.
• Communicate with school personnel, community agencies, and parents.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
