Job summary

Braintrust Tutors is seeking dedicated Reading and Math tutors to support elementary students in school-based settings. You may specialize in reading, math, or both, delivering structured, evidence-based interventions using our curriculum.

The role is a part-time contractor position with a rolling application process and a starting date in mid-September or early October. Typical schedule includes fall and spring semesters, school-day hours, and about 4 to 6 sessions per week at 45 minutes each.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Active/expired teaching license or 5 years of experience working with K-8 students.
• Experience with reading instruction including morphology-based word study, vocabulary development, reading comprehension strategies, and writing skills.
• Math instruction knowledge from counting to multi-digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and/or appropriate technology for instruction.
• A laptop with Windows or macOS that uses Chrome/Edge Chrome 115+ (recommended), Firefox 115+ or Safari 16+. iPads with iOS 17+ and external keyboard acceptable.
• Passion for literacy and closing opportunity gaps.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group reading/math tutoring to students developing literacy skills.
• Implement Braintrust Tutors' intervention programs with fidelity.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance.
• Collaborate with Operations team and school staff to support student growth.
• Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
• Follow school-site procedures and policies with professionalism.
• Use assessments and progress monitoring tools to guide instruction.
• Manage time effectively during sessions to complete planned activities.
