Job summary

The Preserve at Walnut Springs is a 2,000-acre residential community offering premier amenities and a managed landscape. We seek a part-time maintenance assistant to help with trail upkeep, pasture tasks, and property maintenance around the clubhouse, barn and entrances.

Ideal candidates have experience in wildlife, livestock or equestrian care, and can assist in land stewardship and facilities maintenance within a community setting.

Qualifications

• Part-time role with weekend availability.
• US work authorization required.
• Experience with wildlife management, livestock or equestrian care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Trail maintenance: clear debris, mow and manage trails.
• Pasture management: seed, spread manure, remove invasive plants.
• Maintain pasture gates and fences and high fences on property lines.
• Clear vegetation including Ashe juniper and willow baccharis.
• Brush removal using skid steer and dump trailer; burn pile management with weather awareness.

Job description

Background: The Preserve at Walnut Springs (PWS) is a 2,000-acre residential development with 66 residential lots and 1,500 acres of shared open space. The HOA manages a longhorn herd, trail-ride horses, and an Equestrian program for privately boarded horses. Amenities include a clubhouse, pools, tennis courts, an equestrian barn, arenas, trails, and recreation areas.

• Trail maintenance - clearing debris, mowing
• Pasture management - seeding, spreading manure, removing invasive plants
• Maintenance of pasture gates and fences
• Maintenance of high fences on property lines
• Clearing of ashe juniper and willow baccharis
• Brush removal using skid steer and dump trailer
• Manage burn pile with consideration toward burn ban and weather conditions

Property Maintenance

• Mowing, trimming and landscaping around Clubhouse, Entrances and Barns
• Maintenance and repairs to buildings and utilities
• Perform lot maintenance on private lots as requested
• Trash and recycling from facilities to dumpster area
• Vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs

Compensation: $20.00 per hour
