Job summary

CBS Building Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a dependable porter to join our apartment community and rail yard cleaning team.

The role focuses on maintaining clean, safe, and presentable common areas and assisting with overall property cleanliness; schedule is 5 days a week for 4 hours daily from 8 AM to 12 PM. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, trash removal, restroom and office cleaning, restocking supplies, and following rail yard safety rules.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial or porter work preferred.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Ability to perform physical cleaning duties including standing, walking, bending, lifting and carrying.
• Must work safely in an active rail yard environment.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
• Must follow all railroad, client, and company safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the assigned rail yard and facility areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform general cleaning duties.
• Remove trash, debris, and waste from designated areas.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, break rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Maintain cleanliness around the rail yard and building entrances.
• Restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
• Follow all rail yard safety rules and company policies.
• Report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
• Perform other cleaning and porter duties as assigned.
