Job summary

KERA in Dallas, TX seeks a Part-time Radio Operations and Production Assistant to support KXT, KERA-FM and WRR. You’ll fill-in on live or voice‑tracked hosting, help load music, and assist in studio production across radio platforms.

We value familiarity with ENCO/Wheatstone, Adobe Audition, and general broadcast systems, plus knowledge of FCC rules and non-commercial programming. This role reports to the Senior Director of Radio Operations and offers a 20–25 hour week with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience operating radio broadcast systems.
• Familiarity with ENCO/Wheatstone platforms.
• Proficiency with audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition).
• Knowledge of FCC rules and non-commercial programming.

Responsibilities

• Host / fill-in on KXT, KERA-FM, and WRR live or voice-tracked.
• Record and produce imaging, underwriting, and program elements.
• Load music into playout system and prepare files for air.
• Assist with on-air fund drives to ensure successful results.
• Act as an announcer and provide general production support.
• Assist with KXT Live Session recordings and studio/field recordings.
• Voice work across platforms as needed.
• Support compliance with policies and procedures.
