Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Radiation Therapy Tech for the Atrium Health Stanly Oncology: Radiation department. The position requires treating patients with ionizing radiation, monitoring equipment, and maintaining schedules and records.

Eligibility for sign-on bonus exists; education must include AMA-approved radiology program and ARRT passing within 90 days, with BLS prior to employment. 24 hours per week in a supportive clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent.
• ARRT registered or registry eligible; must pass registry within first 90 days of employment.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Ability to lift and handle 35 pounds and to stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients with ionizing radiation in adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor all equipment parameters and document malfunctions; follow safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment schedules.
• Input treatment and simulation charge information into Aria.
• Document patient treatment charts.
• Understand emergency and fault procedures for linear accelerators and simulators.
• Communicate instructions and procedures to patients and their families.
• Maintain clinic organization and cleanliness.
