Job summary

SGS is hiring a Part-Time Engineering Compliance Inspector in Bloomington, MN. The role focuses on conducting inspections per the SGS CRS US program, auditing for country-specific schemes, and documenting evidence of compliance with ISO/ANSI standards.

The candidate should have a technical degree or equivalent in quality control or electronics manufacturing, plus strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent training in quality control or electronics manufacturing.
• Ability to read/interpret technical documents and work instructions.
• Ability to write routine inspection reports related to inspection services.
• Ability to speak effectively with clients.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook a must.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections in accordance with SGS CRS US certification program requirements.
• Conduct inspections / audits for country-specific approval schemes.
• Inspect certified products and components against prepared reports
• Evaluate customer quality management systems against certification program requirements.
• Generate Corrective Action Requests (CARs), as needed.
• Document observations/variances and obtain evidence of compliance/non-compliance.
• Identify, prepare, and label samples for shipment to laboratory.
• Review inspection criteria to understand objectives of assignment prior to start.
• Effectively schedule and execute assigned inspections to minimize expenses.
• Deliver well-written inspection report within defined time frame.
• Provide travel and expense cost estimates as requested.
• Execute inspection within assigned time frame and cost estimate.
• Submit final travel and expense costs in a timely manner.
• Perform inspection/audit report reviews, as needed.
• Execute all work with a professional manner aligned with SGS Integrity Policy
