Responsibilities

• Operates a passenger van safely and efficiently.
• Follows scheduled routes and responds to dispatch for unscheduled pickups/drop-offs.
• Assists passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle.
• Loads and unloads packages and other items.
• Transmits and receives over the two-way radio system.
• Coordinates with dispatch in passenger scheduling.
• May assist in light clerical tasks to complete scheduling and reporting.
• Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies dispatch of potential problems.
• Reports accidents or vehicle malfunctions to dispatch.
• Inspects exterior and interior of the vehicle before each shift.
• Keeps interior neat and vehicle fueled and clean.
• Completes driver sheet documenting names and number of persons served.
