Job summary

South Central Illinois Mass Transit District is hiring a part-time Driver to provide safe, reliable public transportation for our communities. The role offers starting wages of $17 per hour for non CDL and $17.50 per hour with a CDL/passenger endorsement, plus a $0.50 increase after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or related experience.
• Ability to obtain Class C CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Open availability and flexible schedule.
• Background check and drug/alcohol screening required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with the public with a cheerful, professional demeanor.
• Safely drive routes to pick up and drop off community members.
• Sanitize and clean vehicles as needed for a pleasant ride.
• Provide reliable transportation with strong customer service.
