Job summary

Azza HealthCare Agency seeks a Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to deliver in-home therapy under a supervising PT. You will implement treatment plans, instruct patients and families, and monitor progress to support recovery and functional goals.

The role requires a current PT license and reliable transportation, with weekend rotations possible. The PTA must be able to perform lifting and mobility tasks in home settings while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure to practice physical therapy.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Availability for weekend rotations.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and mobility assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home physical therapy following a plan of care under PT supervision.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, gait, ADLs, transfers, and safety.
• Monitor patient responses and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
• Coordinate care with family and healthcare team.
• Respect diverse home environments and client backgrounds.
• Document and report progress and outcomes.

Job description

Role: Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Responsibilities

• Perform treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to enhance patient well-being following a plan of care supervised by a PT.
• Adhere to state laws and only execute procedures within qualifications and training, recommending plan adjustments when needed.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in active/passive exercises, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Monitor and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT and healthcare team.
• Coordinate care and provide therapy education to patients, families, and team members.
• Work effectively in diverse home environments, respecting all clients regardless of background.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current license, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy in the relevant state.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, or access to transportation.
• Availability for weekend rotations.
• Preferred: CPR certification and ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and mobility assistance.
