Job summary

Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Rehabilitation Services in a part-time capacity. The PTA works under a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver skilled treatments for mobility, strength, balance, and independence in inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current Illinois PTA license or eligibility for licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfers, and functional mobility training.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe use of assistive devices.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Maintain treatment areas and therapy equipment in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
• Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Participate in department meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, accreditation standards, infection prevention, and HMC policies.
