Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to join the Addiction Consult Team. You will provide psychiatric assessments and develop comprehensive care plans for patients with psychiatric disorders, with potential for teaching a small group of learners.

The role emphasizes rapid assessments, pharmacotherapy initiation, and discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team. Onsite work with the 20-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• CARN-NP certification or willingness to obtain within 18 months.
• Two years NP experience required; psychiatric NP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to psychiatric patients.
• Complete biopsychosocial and psychopharmacological evaluations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostics.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to policies.
• Maintains high-quality documentation including notes and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as appropriate.
