Job summary

Right At School in Illinois is seeking a Program Manager to lead Educators, oversee daily operations, and build strong relationships with families and school partners while ensuring safety and program quality.

This role offers hands-on leadership, opportunities to grow in education operations, and a pathway to regional management within a community-focused before/after-school program.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple priorities while delivering quality service to staff, families, and school partners.
• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Experience working with children, including those with special needs.
• Coursework or training in child development (preferred).
• Strong oral, written, and visual communication with adults and children.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace or willingness to learn.
• 18+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach Educators, providing coaching, feedback, and day-to-day guidance.
• Keep site documentation, licensing standards, and safety and attendance protocols up to date and compliant with state and company standards.
• Oversee daily check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accurate attendance records.
• Communicate regularly with families, school partners, and your Area Manager, responding promptly to emails, calls, and inquiries.
• Plan and oversee daily enrichment curriculum, movement, team games, and independent activity stations delivered by your team.
• Address and resolve day-to-day issues or conflicts among staff, students, or families.
• Monitor the program environment for safety, addressing hazards and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns promptly and maintain accurate documentation.

As a Program Manager, you'll lead a team and oversee daily operations — coaching staff, ensuring safety and compliance, building relationships with families and school partners, and facilitating activities with kids as needed — while gaining valuable leadership and operations experience in the education field.

In short, your day-to-day leadership is what turns a good program into a great one, for your team and every child you serve.

Pay Rate: $21-$25 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours: Monday - Friday, Before School 6:30 am - 8:15 am and/or After School 2:45 pm - 5:30 pm

Location: Ottawa Elementary School District

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Experience managing competing priorities while delivering quality service to staff, families, and school partners
• High school diploma or GED completed
• Experience working with children, including those with unique or special needs
• Coursework or training in child development or a related field (preferred)
• Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills with both adults and children
• Comfortable modeling professional standards around students, parents, staff, and community members
• Familiarity with Google Workspace or willingness to learn
• At least 18 years of age

Illinois State Requirements

• First Aid and hands-on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis test
• Proof of MMR
• Food Handlers Card
• 18+ years of age
• 12 credits minimum of an 100+ level college courses
• Cleared background check with fingerprinting
