Job summary

Right At School is hiring an Educator to work directly with kids in before/after school programs. You will greet students, lead daily activities, support homework, and ensure a safe, structured environment. This role emphasizes relationship-building and hands-on enrichment while gaining experience in education and child development.

Pay rate ranges from $21-$25 per hour, with morning and afternoon shifts. Program hours are Monday through Friday, offering flexible part-time scheduling and on-site

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual with a consistent part-time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and move around during shifts.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to cover additional program locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students, take attendance, and maintain records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons.

• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions.
• Address minor conflicts using positive guidance techniques.

As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids - leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships - while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

Pay Rate: $21-$25 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours: Monday-Friday: 6:15AM-8:45AM and 1:30PM-6:00PM

What You’re Do

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick‑up and drop‑off regarding their child's day
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred)
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Washington State Requirements

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
