Job summary

Right At School is seeking a Program Manager to oversee before/after school programs across district sites in Ohio. The role focuses on safety, engagement, and strong staff coaching to ensure high-quality student experiences.

The ideal candidate will manage daily operations, communications with families, and compliance with licensing standards, while driving program outcomes in a dynamic school setting.

Qualifications

  • Must meet Ohio licensing and employment requirements for school-age child care.
  • Background checks and compliance with DCY regulations are required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older; CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
  • DCY-listed credentials or coursework may satisfy qualification paths.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and joy by enforcing attendance, behavior, safety policies; coach staff and maintain site documents.
  • Support safety protocols and participant well-being; report issues as needed.
  • Engage with families, clients, peers, and children; respond to inquiries promptly.
  • Maintain student check-in/out records and attendance procedures.
  • Deliver daily activities and curriculum in a safe, engaging environment.

Program Manager

Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students!

Program Manager Pay Rate

$19.00-$24.00 based on education and experience


Program Hours

Monday-Friday 6:30am to 8:00am AND 2:30pm to 6:00pm


You will have a "home base" location but can be asked to go to different schools within the district.


You’ll Drive The Mission By


  • Safety & Joy: Exhibits role model qualities ensuring safety and joy standards are met by supporting a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities to a team of staff members. Supports operational efficiency by keeping site documents and licensing standards up to date. Outlines attendance protocols, behavior policies, safety procedures, and ensures program tasks are completed effectively. Continual coaching, fostering respectful relationships among staff to address any challenges or issues promptly to maintain team cohesion, and productivity.

  • Safety Assurance: Consistently support and report on safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all participants.

  • Effective Communication: Engage meaningfully with families, client partners, peers, and children to support effective communication and relationship building. Respond promptly to emails, text messages, and inquiries during program hours to ensure transparency and trust. Communicate and collaborate regularly with the Area Manager to support outlined program goals and assist in implementing changes or processes as guided.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records for student check-ins and check-outs. Ensure “name to face” attendance procedures are completed per company policy.

  • Daily Routine: Implement daily activities, fitness fun, and curriculum while providing a safe and engaging environment.


Ideal Candidates Will Have The Following


  • Experience with working amongst competing priorities and delivering quality service to all stakeholders

  • Experience working with children and knowledge of unique and special needs

  • Coursework or training in child development and/or related field

  • Communication skills; oral, written, and visual with adults and children

  • Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community

  • Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn

  • Identify and submit proof of MMR


Ohio State & Position Requirements


  • Candidates must meet all applicable Ohio licensing and employment requirements, including:

  • Ability to meet all state-specific requirements for school- age child care programs.

  • Ability to pass required background checks and maintain compliance with DCY regulations.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (in-person) or ability to obtain.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a completed JFS 01296 Medical Statement of Child Care Staff, including documentation of clear TB screening and immunization status (including MMR), as required by DCY.

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • and one of the following qualifications from an accredited college, university, or technical college approved by the Ohio

  • Department of Children and Youth (DCY):

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.

  • Two years of training verified by an official transcript, including four courses in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.

  • Four college-level courses in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.

  • A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition.

  • A Pre-Kindergarten Associate Certificate issued by the State Board of Education.

  • A Montessori Pre-Primary/Early Childhood credential.

  • Career Pathways Level 3 credential

  • CPL 2 with 2 years of experience working in licensed childcare

  • CPL 1 with with 2 years of experience in licensed childcare & the ability to achieve CPL level 2 within 12 months of hire

  • An Administrator Credential
