Job summary

Cambrian College’s School of Engineering Technology seeks part-time professors to teach within the Mining Engineering Technology program starting January 2026. The position involves in-person delivery of Geology I with set weekly hours.

Candidates should hold a technology/engineering diploma or mining geology degree and have five years of relevant experience, with strong communication and teaching skills. Prior postsecondary teaching is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a Technology or Engineering Diploma, Mining Engineering or Geology Degree.
• Five years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and superior oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to be an effective role model in the classroom.
• Ability to use creative teaching approaches and current and emerging teaching and learning strategies to enhance student progress.
• Possess good organizational skills and sound computer software skills.
• Ability to function within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach Geology I (in-person) in the Mining Engineering Technology program.
• Maintain regular teaching schedule: Mondays 12:00–2:00pm and Wednesdays 12:00–3:00pm.
• Deliver course content and assess student progress.
• Participate in departmental activities as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Individual Will Teach Geology I (in-person) On

• Mondays 12:00 - 2:00pm
• Wednesdays 12:00pm - 3:00pm
• No exceptions

Qualifications

• Must have a Technology or Engineering Diploma, Mining Engineering or Geology Degree (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
• Five years of relevant work experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills and superior oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to be an effective role model in the classroom.
• Ability to use creative teaching approaches and current and emerging teaching and learning strategies to enhance student progress.
• Possess good organizational skills and sound computer software skills.
• Ability to function within a team environment.

Additional Assets/Preferred

• Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level
