Job summary

Dr. Phillips Center is seeking a Part-Time Production Technician L3 to support theater operations during events and non-union shows. You will help set up and operate audio, lighting, video and other equipment, and assist with event teardown and maintenance.

The role requires prompt attendance, delivering high-quality tasks, and a service-oriented attitude while adapting to changing priorities. Prior experience in theater or event support is preferred, with a valid Florida driver's license for

Qualifications

At least one year of practical Theater or Event support experience.
General proficiency in audio, video, carpentry/rigging and/or lighting techniques and equipment.
Ability to read stage ground plans and technical drawings.
Ability to read, hang and focus a lighting plot safely under direction.
Able to set up and operate small standalone PA systems; understand audio signal flow.
Genuine understanding of backstage procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

Practical knowledge of sound, lighting, and other stage equipment operation.
Inspect equipment for hazards; transport, set up, and test; run equipment during event.
Troubleshoot equipment issues; ensure cables are secured to prevent hazards.
Ensure safety and security of equipment; report problems; store or load gear as needed.
Follow diagrams and adapt to changes with a service-first attitude.
Participate in stage reconfigurations or temporary decking installations.
As needed, act as Show Runner transporting artists; FL driver’s license required.
Follow safety policies and portray Dr. Phillips Center positively.
Communicate effectively in English; maintain professional relations.
