Job summary

Walt Churchill's Market is seeking a Produce Clerk to be the face of our fresh foods department. You will work closely with Produce Managers to create a welcoming shopping experience and ensure displays are vibrant and well-stocked.

You’ll greet guests, answer questions, prep and package items, and handle shipments with care. The role includes special-order support, keeping the space sparkling, and learning closing procedures for a smooth morning setup.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knife skills for prep and packaging.
• Maintain urgency while handling duties accurately.
• Comfortable greeting and assisting customers face-to-face.
• Attention to detail to ensure correct labeling and dates.

Responsibilities

• Create appealing displays and keep department stocked and fresh.
• Greet guests warmly and help them find ingredients.
• Unload, sort, and stock fresh produce shipments.
• Wrap, weigh, label, and date items for prep and salad bar.
• Take custom produce tray orders in person or by phone.
• Keep the space clean by sweeping, mopping, and restocking sample stations.
• Learn and follow closing procedures to end shifts smoothly.
