Job summary

The YMCA of Dallas is hiring part-time Preschool Teachers to lead a 2-4 year old classroom, delivering engaging activities and a positive learning environment. You will implement the provided curriculum, supervise safety, and collaborate with parents and staff to support early learning goals.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (bachelor's preferred), 1–2 years in licensed childcare, and 26 hours of annual training. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs is needed.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be 18+ with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree or some college is preferred but not required.
• Teachers must complete 26 hours of training annually.
• Must be able to inspire, motivate, and touch the spirit of others.
• Empathetic, calm, and objective under pressure.
• Good driving record and background check clearance.
• Strong understanding of YMCA mission and preschool program goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement curriculum and lesson plans for a 2-4 year old class.
• Develop and administer small group activities with music, arts, reading readiness, and basic writing.
• Follow DFPS minimum standards and YMCA curriculum requirements.
• Maintain safety of children and follow emergency procedures.
• Assist with classroom setup/cleanup and daily operations.
• Chaperone field trips and attend staff training (min 30 hours/year).
