Job summary

YMCA Fort Worth is seeking a Part-Time Preschool Teacher to supervise and nurture toddlers in a classroom setting. You will create a safe, engaging environment that supports social-emotional and early developmental growth through age-appropriate activities.

You will partner with families, follow safety policies, and participate in trainings while maintaining attendance records and supporting daily routines.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous child care experience required. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to be dependable, consistent, and organized.
• Experience working with toddlers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise toddlers in a safe, caring classroom per YMCA standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Part-Time Preschool Teacher is responsible for the direct supervision, care, and engagement of toddlers in a classroom setting. This role creates a safe and nurturing environment, fosters the social-emotional and developmental growth of young children, and models YMCA values through daily interactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supports the daily care and supervision of toddlers in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Plans and implements developmentally appropriate classroom activities and routines.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with children and families.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Collaborates with team members and communicates regularly with families.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to behavior management, safety, and child abuse prevention.
• Ensures children are engaged in a nurturing and developmentally supportive environment.
• Maintains daily attendance and incident reports as required.
• Participates in staff meetings and ongoing trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to actively participate in physical activities with children.
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors, including standing for long periods.
• Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM.

RATE OF PAY

$15.00 per hour
