Job summary

CPCD... giving children a head start is seeking a Part Time Preschool Lead Teacher in Colorado Springs. The role involves planning and implementing learning experiences to promote school readiness, with a 24-hour weekly AM schedule beginning October 5th.

Requires an Associates degree in ECE or related field and Director Qualified, with CPR/First Aid and background checks. Compensation ranges from $26.70 to $29.65 per hour, plus eligible benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in ECE or related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified; if not currently qualified, must obtain.
• Experience teaching in early childhood education including curriculum planning, using assessments, and nurturing interactions.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
• First Aid and infant, child & adult CPR within the first year of employment and maintain as required.
• Medication Administration certification within 90 days of employment and maintain as required.
• Pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test and background check required.

Work Scheduled for 24 Hours a Week with an AM schedule. Set to begin October 5th.

Pay Scale

• Step 1: AA Degree/ECE or related Field & DQ (Written Agreement to obtain a DQ if not held)
  • $26.70/hr.
• Step 2: Bachelor's Degree in ECE or related Field & DQ (Written Agreement to obtain a DQ if not held)
  • $29.65/hr.

CPCD is committed to the comprehensive early childhood development model, which is at the basis of its successful Head Start and Early Head Start programs. CPCD serves just under 1,200 prenatal through five-year-old at-risk, low-income and special needs children and their families. We operate classrooms in six school districts all throughout El Paso County.

Requirements

Required

• Associates degree in ECE or related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified. If a candidate is not currently Director Qualified, they must agree to obtain this certificate and begin the process to obtain immediately.
• Experience teaching in the early childhood education field including experience in planning and implementing curriculum, using assessments, and providing effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
• First Aid and infant, child & adult CPR within the first year of employment and maintain as required.
• Medication Administration certification within 90 days of employment and maintain as required.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required).
• Must have access to reliable transportation and if using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or closely related field with 30 credits of early childhood education courses.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language relevant to the community served)
