Job summary

CPCD is seeking a Part-Time Preschool Teacher Assistant in Colorado Springs to support the classroom team with planning and implementing safe, high-quality early learning experiences, fostering school readiness in collaboration with families.

The position offers a 24-hour work week with either a morning or afternoon schedule, starting December 2nd. Eligible employees receive paid time off, holidays, and a comprehensive benefits package, plus tuition assistance and wellness resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA credential or Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II required. Candidates must obtain it within two years of hire.
• Must obtain First Aid, CPR, and medication administration certification within 90 days of employment and maintain as required.
• Must be able to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation to perform job functions and travel to other locations if needed.
• Pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana) and background check required.

• Assists teacher in planning and implementing safe, healthy, high-quality learning experiences and environments that advance the development of the whole child in partnership with families.
• Complies with CPCD policies, Head Start standards, and state licensing requirements.
• Implements a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote school readiness skills.
