Job summary

Tao Group Hospitality in New York is seeking a part-time prep cook to ensure quality, consistency and production of all food items. You will prep cooking ingredients by washing, chopping, cutting, labeling and storing them according to TAO standards.

You must follow sanitation and food handling guidelines, work as a team, and support chefs and staff while maintaining a clean, organized prep station in a fast-paced venue. Previous culinary experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate.
• Must be able to move quickly.
• Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate and accommodate the needs of all team members.
• Handle all food items by washing, chopping, and cutting according to recipe specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned station, kitchen, and venue.
• Label and store all products following FIFO and company standards.
• Check and complete production lists and assignments.
• Follow supervisor’s instructions and support co-workers as a team player.
• Demonstrate knowledge of assigned recipes and produce to TAO standards.
• Communicate product needs to chefs and staff.
• Set up prep station and perform opening/closing procedures as directed.
