Job summary

Sandstone Care - Crownsville, Maryland is seeking a Prep Cook / Delivery Driver to support our food service team across residential and outpatient facilities. The role combines meal preparation, safe transport, and pantry/ kitchen upkeep in a dynamic treatment setting.

You will ensure food safety, follow menus and dietary needs, and document meal counts and vehicle logs. Must have 1–2 years of kitchen experience, a valid driver’s license with clean MVR, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; culinary training or certification is a plus.
• Experience: 1–2 years in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations; healthcare setting preferred.
• Certifications & Skills: Valid drivers license with a clean MVR; knowledge of food safety standards; ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and cooking according to menu plans and safety standards.
• Safely transport meals to Sandstone Care locations while maintaining quality and temperature.
• Maintain kitchen operations, cleanliness, supplies, and compliance with health regulations; assist with ordering food, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure all food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures comply with health and safety standards; participate in training and policy adherence.
• Maintain accurate records, including meal counts, inventory logs, vehicle mileage, and compliance documentation.

Work Environment/Location: Teen Residential Treatment Center

Schedule: Part- Time - Schedule will vary based on program needs

Compensation Range: $17 - $18 Per Hour

About The Role:

The Prep Cook / Delivery Driver plays a key role in our food service team,assistingwith meal preparation, food delivery, andmaintainingkitchen operations. This position requires a strong focus on food safety, nutrition, and efficiency in meal transport to multiple locations, including residential and outpatient facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, safe driving practices, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to menu plans, dietary needs, and food safety standards.
• Meal Transportation & Delivery: Safely transport prepared meals to various Sandstone Care locations whilemaintainingfood quality and temperature control.
• Kitchen Operations & Inventory Management:Maintaincleanliness, organize supplies, and ensure compliance with health regulations.Assistin ordering food, equipment, and supplies to meet operational needs.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure all food handling, storage, and sanitation procedurescomply withhealth and safety standards. Participate in food service training and policy adherence.
• Administrative & Documentation Tasks:Maintainaccuraterecords, including meal counts, inventory logs, vehicle mileage, and compliance documentation.

Required Qualifications:
