Job summary

Piedmont YMCA in Charlottesville, VA seeks a part-time Lead Counselor to provide a safe, quality experience for pre-k children at the Charlottesville Early Learning Center. Under the Site Supervisor, you will lead daily enrichment activities and participate in health and wellness activities.

Must be 18+, with six months in a supervised child program, ability to plan developmental activities, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by the Department of Social Services Division of Licensing.
• At least 18 years of age.
• At least six months experience working in a supervised child program or setting; one year preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Background check and negative TB result required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Work 2:30pm–5:30pm, Monday–Friday.
• Prepare and implement daily enrichment activities.
• Adhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise children, classroom, and activities.
• Maintain site and equipment; manage relationships with families.
