Job summary

The United Church of Christ is seeking a part-time Coordinator for Prayerground Development (15 hours/week) to lead research, development, and advocacy for child-friendly prayer spaces. The role emphasizes collaboration, budgeting, and producing practical resources for congregations.

The position focuses on researching models, creating a starter kit and a comprehensive manual, and guiding deployment across diverse local churches. It is funded through December 31, 2027.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent education and experience.
• At least four years’ experience with children’s ministry or equivalent experience.
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Canva, Zoom and Wrike.
• Ability to edit and update websites.
• Ease of learning and engaging various social media platforms.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious settings with a demonstrated commitment to pluralism in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and reimbursements.
• Track and maintain the project budget.
• Monthly meetings with Ministry Incubators to monitor project progress.
• Identify and recruit research participants including children and congregations.
• Identify key areas for research and work with participants to deepen understanding.
• Identify and develop resources for prayergrounds in local congregations.
• Maintain regular contact with participants for data collection.
• Create a Prayerground Starter Kit for local churches.
• Create a Manual on prayergrounds’ purpose and best practices using existing data and participant input.
• Offer consultation to churches as needed.
• Assist with content creation as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
