Job summary

Montgomery College is seeking a part-time Pool Operator for the Rockville and Germantown campuses to support the Facilities Department. This position involves lifeguarding, pool maintenance, water testing, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for students and staff.

The role is non-exempt, temporary, and funded through June 30, 2027, with a limit of 25 hours per week. Certifications in MC Pool Operators, Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR with AED are required, along with US work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Montgomery County Swimming Pool Operator License required.
• Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR with AED certifications required.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain a healthy and safe aquatic environment/facility for the College community.
• Perform lifeguard and related water chemistry monitoring duties, including staffing the sign-desk and responding to issues in the locker rooms.
• Protect minor-aged children using the facility and report concerns under Title IX as required.
• Perform cleaning and sanitizing duties; assist with annual draining, cleaning and refilling of the pool and related projects.
• Support pool activities and physical education classes, including setting up/tearing down rental areas and distributing equipment.
• Provide information to patrons about College classes, activities, and rental programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
