Job summary

JCC Greater Boston is seeking a part-time Pool Lifeguard to use lifesaving skills and contribute to a welcoming team environment. The role includes working at both indoor and outdoor pools seasonally, with shifts transitioning to indoor operations during the year.

You will ensure patron safety, enforce rules, and support daily pool operations while collaborating with staff. A valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certification with CPR/AED/First Aid is required, and candidates must be 16 or older.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification with CPR, AED and First Aid.
• Must be 16 years of age or older at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pool patron safety through education, guarding, first aid and rescue services.
• Provide consistent pool coverage and smooth shift transitions through planning and punctuality.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations consistently.
• Maintain good relations with staff and patrons.
• Resolve member concerns professionally or escalate as needed.
• Create pool-related documentation (opening/closing checklists, incident reports).
• Follow directions from supervisors and follow protocols.
• Assist in pool maintenance and keep pool area safe and neat.
