Job summary

FirstService Residential in Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Pool Attendant to oversee the pool area, announce safety information, and maintain poolside equipment for guests. This full-time role requires hospitality experience and a strong customer-service mindset, with a weekend schedule of Fridays and Saturdays, 8:30am–5pm.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with residents and guests in a service-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; hospitality coursework desirable.
• Two or more years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees pool area (adults/children) and makes safety announcements.
• Assists with setup and breakdown for poolside activities.

• Picks up debris and maintains basic poolside cleanliness.
• Check sports equipment to ensure readiness for guest use.
• Report broken equipment to management for replacement.
• Work as part of a team and be approachable to residents/guests.

Pay: $18/hr

Schedule: Friday & Saturday 8:30am - 5pm

Job Overview:

The pool attendant is responsible for overseeing the pool area, making safety announcements and maintaining an inventory of all poolside equipment to be always available for guest use. Experienced in the Hospitality Industry, serves residents by providing information and services.

Your Responsibilities:

• Oversees pool area (adult/children) and makes safety announcements.
• Assists with set up and breakdown for poolside activities as needed.
• Must be able to submit and report incidents to the appropriate manager.
• Must be service oriented.
• Picks up debris from the pool and possesses basic cleaning skills.
• Checks sports equipment to make sure it is in order for guest to use.
• Reports broken sports equipment to the manager so that replacement equipment can be ordered.
• Must have the ability to work as a team member.
• Must be accessible to and approachable to residents/guests.
• Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
• Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Completion of College level courses in Hospitality is strongly desirable.
• Two (2) or more years’ experience in the Hospitality Industry.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 30 – 50 lbs.
• Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time.
• Walk and climb stairs; Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word.
• Ability to navigate the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet the job functions.
• Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
