Job summary

Luna Community College is seeking a Government and Community Relations Liaison to advocate for the college’s priorities with state and local government. The position represents the college with legislators, agencies, and community partners, and supports outreach while coordinating meetings and briefings.

The role reports to senior leadership, requires about 25 hours per week, and involves travel across the service region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Communications, Government, or related field; minimum 3 years in government relations/public affairs or related area.
• Master's degree or JD or other advanced degree preferred. Experience with state government is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and advance Luna's state and local legislative priorities with President and leadership.
• Serve as liaison with legislators, agencies, and government partners.
• Monitor state policy developments and brief leadership.
• Coordinate meetings, campus visits, and government engagement activities.
• Prepare briefing materials, testimony, presentations, and reports for legislative audiences.
• Represent Luna at governmental meetings and events as needed.
