Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, hospital, or long-term care cooking preferred.
• Valid ServSafe or California Food Handler's certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Basic understanding of modified diets, portion control, and food safety sanitation.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes, manage time in a fast-paced environment, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods in a commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Accurately prepare food for therapeutic and modified diets (low-sodium, diabetic, texture-modified).
• Maintain 100% compliance with sanitation and infection control standards.
• Monitor and record food temperatures, label and rotate inventory, keep workstation clean and organized.
• Ensure food quality and presentation meets facility standards while interacting with residents and guests.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Director and nursing staff to ensure appropriate nutrition for residents.
