Job summary

Southcentral KY Community & Technical College is seeking a Part Time Physics Lab Assistant who must be a current SKYCTC student. You will assist physics faculty and students in physics laboratories on-site at Main campus.

The role involves preparing labs, maintaining equipment and supplies, and supporting class activities under the supervision of the instructor of record, while upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of college-level physics courses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the labs for demonstrations and student practice.
• Maintains laboratory equipment, environment, and inventory, including cleaning, storing, and restocking supplies.
• Assists faculty with facilitation of laboratory activities and other class preparations, such as photocopying or grading, under close direction and review of the instructor of record while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of college-level physics courses. Must be proficient in both written and verbal communication, including computer literacy.
