Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Part-Time Physician to provide comprehensive medical care for patients living with HIV/AIDS at the HOPE Center. As a Part-Time Physician at the North Central Health District’s HOPE Center you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. This position will be scheduled for up to 28 hours per week, offering schedule flexibility and a healthy work-life balance while allowing you to use your medical expertise to make a lasting impact on the community.

Examples of duties

The Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to patients living with HIV/AIDS, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and ongoing disease management. The role will also collaborate with the HOPE Center Director and Clinical Nurse Manager to improve clinical workflows, address bottlenecks, and enhance overall efficiency.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to patients living with HIV/AIDS.
• Diagnose and treat HIV/AIDS and related infectious diseases.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans.
• Provide HIV prevention and education services.
• Monitor patients’ ongoing health and disease progression.
• Collaborate with the HOPE Center Director and Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Identify and address workflow and operational bottlenecks.
• Support improvements in clinical efficiency and patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned. Responsibilities and essential functions may change to meet organizational needs.

Qualifications

Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) and licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law and two (2) years of experience at the lower level Physician 2 (HCP161) or position equivalent.
