Job summary

Stephens Hospital, part of MaineHealth, is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for outpatient care under the direction of a Physical Therapist. The role supports provision of PT interventions for patients with injuries or functional limitations, in a 20-hour weekly schedule.

Qualified applicants will have PTA education, active license, and BLS. Home care experience and a valid driver’s license may be required in some assignments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current applicable state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current BLS certification or able to obtain within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Physical Therapist, assists in delivering PT interventions to patients with impairments or functional limitations.
• Supports patients in mobility, exercises, and therapeutic activities as prescribed.
