Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages under supervisory direction. You will collect blood, prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, and handle processing and transport to external labs when needed.

Adherence to safety, infection control and OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen guidelines is required. The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy training (externship preferred), strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training with externship preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate compassionately to clients.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples from patients of all ages.
• Processes clinical specimens for delivery to laboratory departments or reference labs.
• Performs duties within assigned work blocks and ensures compliance with requirements.
• Assists in preventative maintenance and disinfection in the Specimen Processing area.
• Travels to off-site locations for phlebotomy collections (Concord Site only).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
