Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Lab Associate in Boston for a part-time, 20-hour work week. You will collect blood and other specimens, verify patient information, and ensure proper labeling and handling for laboratory processing.

You will perform basic testing tasks with guidance, maintain a clean, organized work area, and support department training as needed. BLS and phlebotomy certification are preferred, with LIS/EMR familiarity a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from a Phlebotomy training program preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge beneficial.
• Experience with LIS/EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens and non-blood specimens for testing.
• Verifies patient identity and communicates procedures to patients.
• Labels, stores, and processes collected specimens for lab analysis.
• Performs basic testing tasks and quality control as trained.
• Maintains clean work area and restocks supplies daily.
• May greet patients and perform receptionist duties as needed.
