Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certification as a phlebotomist.
• Two years experience with phlebotomy and previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood samples per protocol and sends them to the facility approved laboratory for processing.
• Conducts glucose or clotting tests as needed.
• Reports results and maintains records of samples drawn on each patient.
• Assist in the escort of patients, if necessary.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures.
• Attend mandatory in-services and staff development activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
• Prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.
• Accept direction.
