BioLife Plasma Services in Des Moines, IA is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to join our plasma center team. The role supports plasma collection operations through phlebotomy, donor screening, and quality service.

You will greet donors, perform venipuncture, monitor donors during donation, and help setup and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment. This part-time position requires evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
• Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
• Due to exposure to bloodborne pathogens, 90% of tasks require glove wear.
• 1+ years working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
• Monitor donors during donation and manage donor reactions.
• Set up, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment within training scope.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies, break down cartons, and assist with disposal.
• Record donor measures and enter data into the Donor Information System.
